Report layout in 4.0SP2 (NL vs W1)

lbinklbink Member Posts: 6
Hi,

We currently run 4.0SP2 against a SQL2005 64bit database server. All works fine, except for the following. The objects we use is a modified 3,70BNL version.

If I use the NL localised executable, I have problems with all my report layouts (regardless of language setting (ENU/NL). All reports are missing data from the right side.
If I use the W1 version of the executable I have no problems whatsoever.
Deleting ZUP files does not help. all papersizes are set to A4

NL version

W1 version

Any help / suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks,

I recommend you to send it as service incident to Microsoft, it will be faster than thinking about it and searching for the source of problem...

you have to set the right margin to zero (Page Settings of Printer)

I saw this in US version as well for SP2. It was doing the same thing.
In sp1 the report would print fine, but in SP2 it would cut off at the right.
I would suggest using SP1 executable for right now.

A workaround for this problem is to change the right margin in the page setup tab.
    Do the following:
    1 Print report (with dialog)
    2 File->Page Setup
3 Change the right margin to zero.

Or change the property rightmargin on the report to zero.

I think Microsoft needs to fix this ASAP.

German version SP2 cuts off the right margin too, but I had to use in an upgrade last week because with the SP1 client the automatic starting of office WORD when creating an interaction for a contact did not work anymore.

Now I noticed that a report generates 2 pages in 4.01 (SP1) and 8 pages in 4.02 (SP2) for the same printout.
Already created an issue at Microsoft.

This problem will be solved in a week, when MS releases an update for SP2. just wait another week and then download the latest Navision SP2 version.

Ok, the SP1 client can open a SP2 database and has no problems with reports.

The Rollup for SP2 is now released
The Rollup (update) for the Dynamics NAV 4.0 SP2 platform can be downloaded here. More information will be available in KB 919407.
This will among other issues correct the fixed 2cm right margin in reports; that might cut off some text in reports.

Since the release of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 4.0 SP2, we have realized that the local code comments (code mark ups) in the application code are still included. These comments have no effect on how the application works, but does have a significant impact in a upgrade situation. This is because each issue could need to be resolved manually, depending on where the customizations are done. The effected countries were: CA, DE, DK, ES, FR, IT, MX, NL, UK and US.
The downloads below now (April 25th) contains the correct updated files.
The problem is described in a document that can be downloaded here.

    And download the hotfix
    https://mbs.microsoft.com/fileexchange/ ... 0f96fe2212
And just copy them in the program files where the sp2 client is located!

    Hi Chiel,

You mentioned in a previous post:
"Now I noticed that a report generates 2 pages in 4.01 (SP1) and 8 pages in 4.02 (SP2) for the same printout.
Already created an issue at Microsoft".

Is this problem also solved in a newer version of new SP2?

I think they should fix the .iso files with the hotfix. People will forget to implement the hotfixes on top. Plus if you are installing it on 50 computers, it just adds more time.
