Developer´s Toolkit can read - Upgrade Dynamics Client

nav_studentnav_student Member Posts: 175
Hi guy,

i have installed Developper Toolkit 3.01 ond a Terminal Services server and i want to open a a toolkit database already created on a SQL Server.

I had installed the client´s Nav 5.0 SP1, 2009 SP1 and 2009 R2. and the same error appears.

The Toolkit database on the 192.x.x.x server cannot be opened by this version of Dynaics NAV Classic. The database has already been converted by a newer program version

Can you help me?

NDT 3.01 works out of the box with a NAV 2009 (not SP1) database.
You probably opened the database with a later version of the NAV client.
What you can try is to replace the C/FRONT component that comes with the NDT with a version that matches the database.

    Have a look at:

    Thanks thmartim,

I follow this but i got errors try to open the Toolkit database

There are errors in the text conversion because text no. 160-1 does not exist in the .stx file Internal Error 47-1

    Hi

these are the steps that you need to do to make the toolkit work with a database created by the 2009SP1 client:

Copy the following C/FRONT files from the C/Front installation folder to the Developer's Toolkit folder:

    CFRONT.DLL
    cfront.ocx
    cfrontsql.dll
    Microsoft.Dynamics.NAV.CFront.CFrontDotNet.dll
    Microsoft.Dynamics.NAV.CFront.CFrontDotNet.xml

Normally C/Front is installed in the following directory: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\60\SDK\CFRONT.

Then copy the following files from the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Classic client folder to the Developer's Toolkit folder:

    nc_netb.dll
    nc_tcp.dll
    nc_tcps.dll
    ndbcs.dll
    slave.exe
    dbm.dlll

Then you should be able to open the toolkit database that is created with the 2009SP1 client.

    Hope this helps,

    Regards,

    Willy

I don't know what this error message is supposed to mean.
Did you get by any chance before the error message the dialog for converting the database.
I have only seen the error in this situation. If so try to convert the db by opening it with the CC where you copied dlls from.

If not I have no ideas left.

The last error message (db not selected) appears when you try to open a database that is not a toolkit db. (Meaning the objects nececary to work with the NDT have not been imported)
not the correct reason (see below)
    |Pressing F1 is so much faster than opening your browser|

Hmmm, if I try to open a non NDT database I get this error:

Developer's Toolkit for Microsoft Dynamics NAV
The database c:\program files (x86)\microsoft dynamics nav\developers toolkit\Demo DE Addon Database NAV (6-0) does not contain Developer's Toolkit for Microsoft Dynamics NAV objects.

Please import the latest version of Developer's Toolkit for Microsoft Dynamics NAV objects into this database.
    OK
