COA sorting

dkgardendkgarden Member Posts: 38
Dear guys,

I know this is stupid question but i can't figure out how it is done.

There is an existing Nav with COA as below

010 - heading
0100001 - posting
0100002 - posting
020 - heading
0200001 - posting
0200002- posting

It is sorted as above.
But when i tried to create a new company with a new COA, the sorting is as below

010 - heading
020 - heading
0100001 - posting
0100002 - posting
0200001 - posting
0200002 - posting

I can't move the 0100001 and 0100002 in between the 010 and 020.

Can someone please guide me how to do it?

Regards,
DK

Are both COAs in the same database? And on which database server (Native or SQL).
I am asking as it seems that the first one is sorted as Text and the second as Code (i.e. numerical).

Some versions of Navision have been modified to allow sorting like this in line with legal requirements. I can't be certain, but I think Spanish, Finish and Swedish are examples there are more. Maybe its one of those versions you are looking at.

    You are fully right David.
These Western European countries have a text sorting: BE, ES, PT, CH, NO, SE, GR
And these countries not, i.e. they have numerical sorting: NL, FI, UK (and IE), IT, DE, DK, FR, TR
(i.e these are the countries I have been working in the MS team I was on)

    Hi guys,

I think i found the issue.. the former is using SQL database where the latter is in Native database.

Anyway thanks a lot for the kind reply.
