ADCS Testing and Login Failure

I have set up a test system for ADCS on Navision V4.00 SP1. All installed OK, services are running OK. Database is on SQL Server (2000 personal edition).
When I run the Hyperterminal it prompts for a login and I cannot get passed this. It won't recognise anything I put in. I have tried by Windows and Database user ids, with and without password but all with no success.
Any idea how I can trace what is going on?

Also there is a Employee setup in ADCS that is required, separate from the database or SQL user ID's. You also must setup the receiving and shipping stations.
