NAV Service Tier Installation Problem

Hi, I recently got problem installing NAV 2013 Server.

The server is Windows 2008 R2 with no SP and its not joining into any Domain.

I'm using the adminsitrator account of the server (local admin) as the Log On service account. In the Installation process (while the Setup running), I can see the service Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server [DynamicsNAV70] is created, also the Service folder in the default installation folder. The service status is changing to starting and empty several times and I get this error:

After the error, the Service and the Service Folder contents are rolled back. The service is gone and the service folder is empty.

The SQL Server (2008 R2) is on the same machine and running. I also installed the Client, Development Environment, Administration Tools, Documentation and SQL Database Components on the same machine.

Is there anyone know how to solve this?

I recommend you google "APPCRASH MsiExec.exe".
There are some interesting tips on how to fix the problem.

well, actually the appcrash was happening later after the NAV Server installation failed for several time. I'm not sure which option causing the appcrash, but I'll look into that anyway. The appcrash is happening after the Service and the Service folder is rolled-back, so I assume the appcrash happens after the installer failed to start the service at some reason. The Event Viewer error is my greater concern actually. Why the error mention user sa, while the installer's trying to start the service using computer's administrator account? Is this related with the WCF / ADO.NET technology - which is mentioned to be used to communicate between NAV server and SQL Server - that some point will use sa (sysadmin sql database login) for the connection database connection?

I've installed NAV 2013 on several machine using Windows 2008 Server Standard, this is the only machine I get the error. The Processor is Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU x5680 @3.33Ghz (single core). The server is a cloud server. Could it be the source of the problem?

I just found out that the SQL Log on error on the event viewer is continuously happens, even not in installation process. It seems like a spyware to me since the error said:

Login failed for user 'sa'. Reason: Password did not match that for the login provided. [CLIENT: 60.173.14.66]

And the [CLIENT: 60.173.14.66] is an IP from somewhere in China. Could it be a virus or such? Could it be blocking the NAV server connection to the SQL Server?

Several changes has been made on the server and the crash is not happening anymore. But in the installation is still fail due to error bellow:

After the error, the service (DynamicsNAV70) and the service installation folder were rolled-back.

Is there anything to do with ServicesDefaultTimeZone in the custom.config? how do we change the setting since the service error during the installation process?

This means that your server can be seen on the internet! And thus it is quite easy to hack it!
Put your server behind a firewall!

There are a lot of zombie-PC's that continually scan the internet and try to connect to the SQL Server port and try to enter. If your SQL server replies to them they know there is a SQL Server and you can be sure there will be coming more attacks.

Obviously there's something attacking. btw, the error above was caused by the corruption of some system files which were damaged (I assume) by some kind of virus. Thanks for responding.
