PDF Creator

john_bellingerjohn_bellinger Member Posts: 34
I'm using PDFCreator to automate email attachments from certain points within NAV.

I just purchased a new computer, installed PDFCreator. When I run my automated Microsoft Dynamics NAV process I get the message 'Could not create an instance of the OLE control or Automation server . . . Check that the OLE control or Automation servcer is correctly installed and registered.'

Is something failing to install on my new workstation? This same process works on other workstations.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hello
the messages means that an Service or dll is not availble. When you can open the report in designermode than you should see some Global Variables showing on a automation server. This service has to be installed or registred. Which one is a little try and error. It could be a part of an Office package or something from Adobe. Install the same programs as on your former pc and then it should work.

    Best wishes

    Sorry - I'm not sure if I follow -

I went to Tools >> Customer Controls in NAV. I found a line with Name = Adobe PDF Reader. When I try to reregister I get the message 'Could not register the OLE control. Path: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat\ActiveX\AcroPDF.dll'

I do have that path and file on my computer.

In Customer Controls I do not see a line for PDFCreator.

Hello. Try uninstall pdfcreator and installing it again.

    http://superb-east.dl.sourceforge.net/s ... _setup.exe

Also Compile the Object. Maybe the new version of pdfcreator has a new dll version and you need to reselect it from global variables.

    No luck.

I think I've uninstalled and installed about a dozen times.

It's like finding a needle in a haystack sometimes but by your first post it does work fine just not on your new machine.

Did you install everything fresh or did you copy directories from the old computer to new??

I would think you would get some kind of error if it didn't exist??

Silly me - problem is solved. I am using Lanham email solution and had not loaded the OCX that is part of their solution.

Sorry to waste all your time.
