It took 30 hours or you waited 30 hours and never finished? Some Navision versions had an infinite loop in costing.

should i tell my client that he should forget about costing
    as he is running navision.

I dont know how the people are working and how they are
able to run their business in efficient manner using navision.

I think either microsoft should scrap this product or correct these
    blody bugs.

Every software has many bugs, it's impossble to solve all of them.

Check in partnersource for your current version and apply the correct hotfix. It's simple to correct this.

Hello. I suggest using this modification and filter it by Item.

That way you can run it several items at a time.

Adj. batches are not your problem. Biggest problem are: items with average costing method and backdated posts (and wrong indexes on the tables). And base is to run the batches each day to keep the time as short as possible.

Now I'm confused. Did your adj. cost ever finished after 30 hours?

Wow that's harsh, "Scrap this project" I never thought of Nav as being a little MS sideproject.

It run great & it's made our business lean & mean. There are hot fixes for bugs such as the one you are experiencing. What version are you using? It's been very clear to us for the years we've been using Nav that running Adjust Cost Batch job on a regular basis is the way to go.

What version are you using? In 5.0, they introduced Inventory Periods so you can run adjust cost for a particular period.

Does it successfully complete but take 30 hours each time, or do you kill it after 30 hours of running?
