Dear Jan,

I tried an it fails. I have not the permission to use CFront.dll! Does that mean, that I only be able to view Licens which include CFront?

That may be true, but without using C/Front, I don't know how to extract permissions from a license file. Without C/Front, the tool can only list granules in the license - about the same information you get when you view the license in a text editor.

Jan,

split it up!

Code: Select all
If c/font in license
Show granuales plus incorrect license message
else
  Show everything you got!

This tool works fine. :)

The tool would almost be perfect with an additional very significant feature:

There should be a relation between granules and objects, so that for example all objects that are included in granule 3380 could be listed.

Would such an implementation be possible?

Dear Walter,

That's a great idea, but technically impossible, I'm afraid. :(

Currently, I am quite busy, but I'll keep your idea in mind. Hopefully, there will be quieter times soon...

Thanks for helping me build the best tools I can!

It's very interesting tool, but there are some problems.
1. stx, etx ant other c/f related stuff used from default navision instalation, sometimes it can couse error's like "string not foound..."
2. license file used from default navision installation too.
Suggestions:
Place all C/F files in nlv.exe folder and use it from there.

Best solution is Installer with question about files.

That's a great idea, but I have no clue whatsoever on how to do this. Perhaps someone can help?

Store somewhere your instalation path (registry or ini file).
before usage of CF call SetNavisionPath()
and LoadLicenseFile().

Hi Jan,

I also encounter problem "Error meaning 1959-0 ist not find in STX-File"
and Internal Error: 47-1.

I have Microsoft Navision 3.70MY installed as a standalone machine.
I have created a new folder to put your great program to view the
license. When I run the license viewer application, open my own license
which is a developer license, I have the error message.

Can you help ? Thank you very much.

Hi,

Especially with a dev license, you should not receive an error message like this. Let's try and resolve this issue right away.

Could it be that error message is in your local language? If so, copy fin.stx, fin.etx from the ENU folder of your Navision client installation to the License Viewer program folder.

Please let me know if that fixes this problem!
