NavisionIDE_CTP
Here is CTP version of my "Navision IDE". Just "milestone".

Requirements:
- Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0

DB-based solutions are not supported yet, "FileSystem" only.

1. Export some navision objects "as text"
2. Start new solution
3. Load objects into solution (solution context menu)

Play! :)

This version is more or less usable. I think there is a lot of possible problems, but it's CTP (Community Technology Preview) only.

There is not 2way communications between "Compare" tab and source object. 1way only.

You can DblClick on comparision results.

Archive updated.

Use "NavisionIDE_Preview" folder. Not my fault! :D

Why don't you rather write it as a Visual Studio or Eclipse (recommended) plug-in?

It would be a lot easier. Especially for Eclipse. Eclipse is very plugin-friendly. It was specifically designed to be a common for IDE-oriented plugins rather than being an IDE by itself. (Although most people don't know it, as they associate Eclipse with it's most frequently use IDE plugin: a Java IDE)

It offers very useful hooks for all common tasks like comparision, CVS/SVN checkin/chechkout, Projects, tasks, todos, intellisense, whatever.

Please add small "IMHO" to your post. Everithing depends on. For me(!) MUCH more easier to write from scratch by myself rather than fight with VS/Eclipse bugs.

Hihihi. This reminds me of my friends here who invented a whole new programming language (written in C++) for their banking development projects, alongside with a new editor and they even designed new fonts for their language and they even reinvented string handling instead of just using C++ STL... :) It seems you also think like "Don't trust others, do everything myself"... Quite a common cultural trait here east of the Rhine :) The only reason I don't argue with you is that I committed the similar "reinvent everything" fault myself a couple of times... so maybe everybody needs to fall into the same trap a couple of times until he learns from it :)

I have Net framework 2.0 installed but I get error message if I click the NavisionIDE exe.

I did not understand how to start the application.

Anyone has an idea?

Best Regards

Ufuk

Ok. I hope I found.

Quick solution - remove all previous configurations from
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\NavisionIDE

I will fix it in next releases.

But there is not any file or folder as NavisionIDE in the related path.

The error is ms encountered a problem and needs to close etc...

I've just tried to run this application on "clean" computer.

Everything works fine. Looks like you don't have framework 2.0 installed, at least correctly.

Still waiting for constructive comments: "This is good, but...", "This is total rubbish crap, but..." etc. :)

Bcos looks like 200 people downloaded this but nobody ran at least once.

PS: This IS NOT "reinvention of the wheel". Just try to merge objects manually (on-the-fly) using DevToolkit...
