Hi,
Is it possible to add content to the description field of the Database Server for Microsoft Dynamics NAV Classic (Windows service)? It is currently blank.

It's not documented anywhere, you could take a look at registry, but probably not supported.

Hi ara3n,
Indeed the registry was the place to do it.

Find the key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\<SERVERNAME>] and add a new String value named "Description" and containing the data, you want as a description.

Thanks ara3n for the lead :-)

May I ask why you would want to add description?

Yes, you may. There are several servers on the same machine, and it is practical to add some extra info about what each server is used for. I needed to add more info, than just the server name. "Needed" is maybe an exageration, but it was nice-to-have.
