Hi all. I am starting using NAV 2013. I have an issue when inserting a new field in the table. The message "To validate table changes for potential data loss..." appears. I search here and in the internet and the problem is at the tools - options (must give Server Name e.t.c). I give the necessar info but i have still problem. I also read not set to NO the Prevent data loss from table changes option. Please help me!!!!

Thank you for your answer but the solution is to set to NO the prevent data loss option. This is not recomended because of data loss. Is there a way to insert field to a table with Prevent data loss from table changes to YES?

Yes there is. When you save a table on the server on which the servertier is installed, it will work.
It should work too from other servers when you fill in the options right.

Just tried it myself and I'm also having problems modifying tables from other servers. This is probably/hopefully solved in newer builds. I'm on NAV 2013 R2 36281.

Btw. In NAV 2015 this field " Prevent data loss from table changes" is gone and replaced by options to save tables "Now - with validation", Later or Force.
I'm curious if this solves the problem.

My built is 7.10.36897. Actually i found the way. I created the services from Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server and everything works fine now. I have in the same server a production and a test database and i can see the instanses. Before i had created the services with the old way like NAV 2009 has.
