Hi guys,

I am facing an issue where I have an item and I have already key in the extended text. I have few lines of description for the item in it. The next step, I have tick the option 'Automatic Ext. Text' in the Item card. I have made sure that the tick in the Sales Order are in in the extended text setting.

Now, when I try to do Sales Order and choose the particular item, first, the extended text is not appearing at the line below the item and when I try to print the Order Confirmation, it is not there either.

I have tried with few sales order and still face this issue. Is there anything else that I miss out?

Thanks guys in advance.

    Hi Ashwin,
did you check out the language settings ? The language code of the extended text must match the langauge code of your sales order. There's a checkbox "All language codes" on the extended text which can be used in order to use the same text language independently.

Regarding printing, there's also a whole bunch of checkboxes for the different sales and purchase documents. For the form printout, make sure Sales Order is checked. But if your extended text does not appear on the sales lines, it will never get printed at all, so first step is to bring your extended text into the sales lines

    Hope this helps

Could be there's another extended text already connected to the item. Which has no lines.

    Hi Andrew,

I have set the "All language code" checkbox ticked and then test. By default all bunch or the tick boxes are checked. And I have made sure of that too.

I tried to create a new item and it doesn't reflect the extended text too. I have to get my technical guys to check on the reports to see whether the standard report has been customised or not.

Any other than that need to setup?

There's no any other extended text tagged to the item. I have checked it as well.

Your setup seems to be fine. There's probably a modification on inserting items in sales lines. Maybe the automatic inserting of the extended text is disabled by code?

Also, on sales order lines there's a function "Insert Ext. Text". This can be used to insert the textended text lines associated with the item no. manaully into the sales order lines. Try this to verify if it's just the automated option that fails.

Basically I agree with Tino, your setup seems to look fine. I would also suggest next step to verify if any modifications had been applied...

    Cheers

i have tried setup 'Automatic Ext. Texts' in item card but it is still not appearing even in the lines when I choose the items.

I will check with the technical guys whether this has been modified previously from code level as you guys mention.

    Thanks again guys.

Find out the issue as the report has been customized by different user. Sorry and I receive good support in here.

ps: moderator can close the topic.
