Manufacturing / workcenter / planning in days

Hi,
I understand what a workcenter does.
I set up a work center and the unit of measure connected is DAYS.
When I make a production forecast for my item and calculate a regenarative plan in the planning worksheet, I don't understand the starting/ending dates the system comes up with.
I think the problem is that the system does not know how many of my items I can produce in one DAY.
Can't find a field for this.
However the quantity of my item to produce is not that important.
Le't just say it takes 50 days to make just one 1 and it takes 50 days to make 90000000.
(there is no BOM or anything like that)
Anybody knows how to set this up correctly?

Have you created a routing where the times are setup and filled this in on the item you want to produce?
You have to fill Routing No. on tab Replenishment and set replenishment System to production order.

yes...on the routing I entered the runtime (1)
I did not enter the other fields because they are not relevant in our case.
I selected replenishment by production order and the routing no. in question on the item card.
    thx. for the reply...
