  Try using TransFooters in the Section Designer of the report. Take a look at the Sales Order report as an example. To add the TransFooter section, just highlight a section bar and click F3 to display the Insert New Section page

  Transfooters and groupfooters are two different things.
  
  Transfooters are used to display a running total at the bottom of the page. Say you have a sales report that runs for 5 pages and the grand total of your sales is 100. The transfooter in the first page would say 20, in the second page it would be 40, third 60, etcetera.
  
  Groupfooters display the total for the particular group. Say this same report groups by city. Each grouptotal would display the total just for the city.
  
  You could have a transfooter within the groupfooter.
