I am new to Navision and i have a client at Kerala. pls help in setting up the Kerala vat structure (Vat% + 1 % Cess On VAT%).

You need to setup "Tax Components" as CESS.
Create Tax Jurisdiction as "KER-VAT" and "KER-CESS".
Setup Tax Details with Tax Juridiction with Tax Group. For Ex. Tax Juridiction (KER-VAT) > Tax Group (VAT 5) = 5% and Tax Jurisdiction (KER-CESS) > Tax Group (VAT 5) = 1%
Under Tax Area Code For Ex. VAT; define Tax Juridiction "KER-VAT" and "KER-CESS".

Dear Sir

with reference to subject, i think from 1st april 2012, the cess has been cancelled and the tax % has been changed from 4% to 5%.

Please make the changes in the Tax details option for to change the Tax percentage for kerala state and make the cess % as zero.
