Can anybody explailn how to run MRP for a given Order?

you can't run it for a single order. but you can run it for all orders.

From Sales&Marketing->Order Processing->Order Planning

U will have to set Reservation "Always" on both component and FG. On Sales order use Order Promising after accepting the capable to promise dates ur FG line would be visible on Planning Worksheet in Manufacturing. Now on Planning worksheet run accept action message it will bring the MRP for the line above. And it will be for only that order only.

Make sure u have Tracking & Action message set on both item cards as well.

Or just check critical on RM and run Order promising for FG. Once u run capable to promise it will bring all the stuff without any setting on Mfg Planning worksheet. Easy and hassle free it would be.

Run Order Planning, then delete the other order entries that came up.
