Tax On Cigarettes (Indian Localization only)

navuser1navuser1 Member Posts: 1,329
Dear All,

Indian Government has changed the Tax policy on Cigarettes products. The new Tax calculation policy is based on the SOLD quantity and the size of the Item. But in default scenario in MS Dynamics NAV (IN Version) the Tax policy is based on the goods instead of sold quantity.

[ Here I would like to mentioned that we've created a separate Item in the Item Master due to size difference of the Cigarette Product ]

The Changed policy is come into effect since 2nd day of May, 2015.

Now I want to implement the new tax policy in my current system.

If you have any suggestion regarding the same please share.

Thank you.

What is the problem then? Use "Amount/Unit" in the excise setup. It will work.

If I change the required setup in the excise setup table it will work in my Sales Tax calculation also.

    Thanks for reply..

If you are doing changes in "Excise Setup" then it will work only for Excise and that exactly was your question. It will not impact Sales Tax.

Not available in Standard NAV IN Localization. I have never seen sales tax calculations on per piece basis. It is normally on value.

I've modified the code according to new tax rule.
My code just calculating the Tax amount without providing any Tax %.

I just want to know is there any necessary to back calculate "Tax %" in the this case.

    Kindly reply.

    Note :
I've applied the patch in NAV 2009 R2 & seen that the existing default code back calculates the "Tax %" but the same is not happening in NAV 2013 R2 Database.
